Grand Design Disappointment

A Rotherham man has been left angry and disappointed after having an application to be featured on the hit Channel 4 show Grand Designs, rejected. Alan Bull (44) of Doncaster Rd at Clifton, offered to have his project filmed for the series, now in its thirteenth season, and sent in a written application complete with detailed plans. Alan says he has been meticulously planning the project for over 5 years now, but held off moving forward pending receiving a response from Channel 4. The reply, received last week, left Alan fuming. After thanking him for his application, the letter from Head Of Production Tristan Foulds went on to explain the reason for the negative decision.
“While we are keen to feature builds of varying types and with a broad range of budgets we don’t feel your project currently meets the criteria for the show. Good luck with putting up your Wickes conservatory.”
“That’s just typical of that t****r Kevin McLeod” said furious divorced fork lift truck driver Alan, “He’s only interested in cosseying up to middle class yummie mummies who get unexpectedly up the duff before the first footings are in. You can’t tell me that’s a coincidence. Yes it’s a Wickes conservatory, but it’s not just a lean-to. It’s got the dwarf wall and a roof crest. The works.”
A Channel 4 spokesman didn’t wish to comment any further on Alan’s building project but was keen to stress that there are no current paternity suits outstanding against McLeod or any of his team
