Rotherham Residents Disappear On Holiday
2017-01-12
It’s a phenomenon that is baffling experts – thousands of Rotherham families set off on holiday every year but apparently fail to reach their destination. Extensive research has revealed that nobody from outside the borough has ever met anyone from Rotherham while on holiday.
We sent our foreign correspondent off to several resorts in the Mediterranean, supposedly popular with Rotherham folk, but he failed to find anyone from the town or anyone who had met anyone from the town. He spoke to people who were from ‘Yorkshire’, people from ‘south Yorkshire’ and some who live ‘near Sheffield’. There were a number from places like ‘Wickersley in south Yorkshire’, but nobody at all from Rotherham.
“It is as though Rotherham families disappear into thin air at the airport, only to re-emerge two weeks later from goodness knows where.” said local travel agent Sally Swann. “We definitely sell them tickets. There’s something strange going on.”
We tried to speak to both south Yorkshire police and Rotherham council to see whether there is any connection between this phenomenon and the recent unexplained disappearance of all Rotherham police officers and social workers, but neither wished to comment.
