Little Mix singer, Jesy Nelson,  was in hot water last night after posting a picture  on Instagram that made her look like a blow up doll that had been taken out on a stormy stag night in Blackpool, before being dumped in a pizza shop  skip.

The photograph created a storm of its own on Twitter, with site users accusing the singer of ‘cultural appropriation’.  “Jesy I hope you at least apologise.” said one fan  “If you don’t, you’ll be labelled as ignorant for the rest of your career. I’m not an inflatable sex toy  but I’m very aware of their culture and I respect it.”  There were numerous calls for Nelson to delete the photo, with many feeling that it was disrespectful to the heritage of adult inflatable products everywhere.

A spokesperson for the singer said that she’d listened to  all the comments and had no wish to cause offence, “Jesy has seen inflatable sex toys made up to look like pop singers, “ she said “and was simply returning the compliment.” She thought it would be okay. Clearly not.”
