Arsenal Fear Europa League Exit As They Take Big Lead To Moscow But Then Discover Putin Will Be Counting Second Leg Goals

Arsenal take a huge 4-1 lead into the second leg of their Europa League quarter final tie against CSKA Moscow next week,  after a first class performance at The Emirates. However, their chances of progressing to the semi-finals were dealt a huge blow tonight, after it was announced that representatives of President Putin will be keeping score in the second leg.

A spokesperson for the Russian Football Federation told the Bugle “The President is a big football fan and will be keeping a close eye on the game in Moscow. He has briefed some of his closest aides who oversaw our recent election, and they will be on hand on the night to ensure that any goals scored are counted correctly.”

The Bugle understands that Arsenal are fearful of a repeat of events in an earlier round when a carefully drilled troop of KGB officers stood in front of TV cameras late in the second half with the Moscow team two goals down. By the time they’d been moved out of the way, several opposition players had been sent off and the CSKA goalkeeper had apparenty scored a hat-trick.
