Team Sky In Hot Water Again As Rivals Claim Illegal Sheep Transported In Lead Car

Team Sky were at the centre of controversy at the close of The Tour De France today, with more claims of foul play. The race was won by Gerraint Thomas, but several rival teams lodged a protest after the race, saying that Sky had secured an illegal and unfair advantage for the Welshman by carrying a ‘beguiling’ sheep in the back of the lead car.
One team manager, who asked not to be named, told The Bugle “This is one more example of dubious practice on the part of Team Sky. Everyone knows that giving a Welshman a sheep to pursue – and an attractive one at that – gives him a massive advantage in any race. It makes anything Lance Armstrong and the US Postal Team did look like Kindergarten stuff. We will be lodging an appeal.”
A spokesperson for Team Sky denied any wrong doing. “We found the sheep stranded on the roadside on the first stage between Noirmoutier-en-l’Île and Fontenay-le-Comte.” he said “We popped it in the back of the car for its own safety and then forgot about it.”
When pressed by overseas reporters, the spokesperson was forced to deny rumours that the sheep had been spotted in the team hotel between the third and fourth stages, but had escaped via a rear entrance before anyone could get a photograph.
