Mourinho Gets Special ‘Jazz Hands’ Salute From Old Trafford Faithful
2018-10-03
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was treated to a special ‘jazz hands’ sign of appreciation last night, as he left the field following his sides 0-0 draw with Valencia. The gesture is thought to be in support of Manchester University students who this week decided to substitute the gesture for clapping in order to avoid making noise which might upset people with autism and other psychological disorders. Regular football supporters will be well aware that United fans dispensed with clapping just after Sir Alex retired.
A fan who was at the game told The Bugle “It was a nice touch, but I don’t think everyone has got the hang of it yet. Rather than using two open hands, I saw a number of fans using just one hand, and their fingers weren’t as straight as might be considered ideal.”
The Bugle understands that fans are already preparing for a more polished performance at the next home game.
