Venice Tourism Chief Slams ‘Whinging Bastard’ Visitors As Puddle Grows

The head of tourism in Venice has slammed visitors to the city, calling them ‘whinging bastards’ after high tide resulted in 75% of the city being left under water.
“These people are never satisfied,” said Luigi Plugio as he waded across his second floor office “Why did they come to Venice if they don’t like water? It’s madness. Some of them have come off cruise ships for Christ’s sake. Yes, there’s a little more than normal, but it’s like going to Vegas and saying there are too many casino’s, or going to New York and saying there are too many skyscrapers. Set of whinging bastards, the lot of ‘em.”
In related news, some Gondoliers are understood to be making extra money by extending their service to include tours of the interior of major buildings.
