Young Penguins Have Got It Cushy, Says Old Penguin

A retired Penguin has expressed his disgust at the cushy life enjoyed by young Penguins after watching the latest episode of David Attenborough’s Dynasties series on BBC two last night. The programme followed the trials and tribulations of a group of Emperor Penguins in Antarctica as they coped with the harsh climate and conditions.
Speaking from his heated enclosure at Chester zoo, pensioner Reg (20) told The Bugle “These young penguins don’t know they’re born these days – hiding away in their mother’s pouch and huddling together when it gets a bit chilly. Wimps! It was ten times colder in my day. When I was their age, we were kicked out and playing ice ball in all weathers until it got light – which is about 2 months. Regurgitated fish guts? We used to dream of regurgitated fish guts. It was a bit of Mackerels arse every six weeks if we were lucky. They’ve got it all on a plate.”
Reg says he blames TV and the internet for the way young penguins are today. “They see other birds living the high life on documentaries and YouTube videos and they want the same. It leads to resentment. There’s no wonder there’s so much flipper crime about.”
