‘A Place In The Slum’ To Spearhead Post-Brexit TV Shake-Up
2018-12-03
As the prospect of a no deal Brexit looms ever larger, UK TV companies are already looking at how daytime programming will tap into the zeitgeist and meet the needs of a changing audience. The Bugle has had an insider peak at some of the big new ideas under consideration:
A Place In The Slum – Walnut-skinned, angry ex-pats, who have been forced out of Spain and still talk about ‘coloureds’, are filmed as they view skanky UK flats with increasing levels of despair.
Escape From The Country – desperate over-qualified jobless Brit’s compete for the opportunity to start a new more prosperous life in Eritrea or Mozambique or anywhere really, by wrestling each other bare chested in a massive vat of rotting paella.
Fuck It! – The camera’s roll as cowed and defeated Brit’s take the last of their meagre possessions and put them through a low-rent auction in order to raise the £14.50 needed to buy a loaf of bread and some milk to feed their starving and emaciated families.
One source told us “The TV companies are seeing this as a major opportunity, but there is concern at the moment over whether there will be enough people left who can afford a television and electricity, to make up an audience.
