Rumours Of Euromillions Win Spread As Barnsley Couple Pay Electricity Bill

Rumours were rife of a Barnsley Euromilllions jackpot win this morning, after a couple walked into a local post office and paid their electricity bill in full.
Postmaster Madge Parcel said ‘ I couldn’t believe it like. They just walked in all cocky with cash in one hand and the bill in the other. It weren’t even a red ‘un. I’ve never seen owt like it and I’ve worked here 50 years.”
Bystanders told our reporter that the couple, who can’t be named for spurious reasons, soon disappeared into the crowd, but not before splashing out on two packs of 20 Silk Cut each at a nearby newsagents.
As the Bugle went to press the euromillions jackpot had been claimed in Northern Ireland and locals are now working on the theory that the couple may have been poverty tourists on a day out from just over the border in Rotherham.
