Fireman Sam Labelled ‘Unrepresentative’ Because He’s Not Doing Up Houses On His Days Off Or Shagging His Best Mates Wife

Fire chiefs have labelled Fireman Sam unrepresentative and have taken the decision to stop using him as a recruitment tool. It follows an investigation that has revealed that the popular cartoon character doesn’t use his sick days to run an ad hoc building firm, and isn’t shagging a close mates missus on the side while he’s out at work.
A spokesperson for the Association Of Chief Fire Officers told The Bugle, “It’s important that we have role models in place which truly reflect the character and qualities of a modern day fire fighter. All Sam seems interested in is putting out fires, but there’s much more to being in the fire service than that.” The comments come on a day when it was also announced that ‘oppressive phallic hoses’ are to be replaced with huge inclusive rubber vaginas – a move that has raised safety concerns in certain quarters.
Meanwhile Dawn Butler, Shadow Women’s and Equalities Minister, was quick to quell any suggestion that the Fire Service’s current recruitment efforts aren’t attracting the right ethnic and gender mix. “Only encouraging white men to run into burning buildings is fine by me” she told The Bugle.
