Barnsley Holidaymakers To Star In New Reality Show, ‘The Only Way Is Mabs’

Barnsley residents received their most exciting news since the arrival of Dunkin’ Donuts in the town today, when it was announced that the borough’s glitterati are to star in a new ITV12 reality show, provisionally called The Only Way Is Mabs.
Mabs, or Mablethorpe as it’s more widely known, is a popular destination for the town’s ‘jet set’, who regularly make the 80-mile coach journey across country to take residence in one of the luxury resorts many caravan parks. Until now, it’s been a privileged world to which only a few fortunates have gained access, but now the TV cameras have been allowed in to witness how the other half live for the very first time.
“I think people are going to be expecting tin baths and shitting in a bucket, just like at home,” one Barnsley insider told the Bugle “but some of these ‘vans have got inside lavvies and everything. When they see these young folk from the likes of Wombwell quaffing gallons of best bitter and dining on the finest fish cake, chips and mushy peas, I think they’re going to be shocked. There’s going to be plenty of flesh on show as well – plenty! More than on any other show before, I’d say. We’re going to make a big impression. ”
As The Bugle went to press, there were unconfirmed reports that the first episode will feature uncut footage of a morbidly obese young couple copulating in a pizza shop skip while sharing a kebab. “That’s just a normal Saturday night in Barnsley,” our insider said “But nobody has taken it to Mabs before.”
