Labour MP’s Urge Corbyn To Follow Farage’s Lead And Not Stand

Labour MP’s are understood to be united in urging Jeremy Corbyn to follow the lead of Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage and not stand at the upcoming general election in December. Mr Farage announced his decision not to stand for election this morning, saying that he felt he would better serve the party in a supportive role to other candidates.

“We feel something similar about Jeremy.” said one Labour insider who asked not to be named. “I mean it’s not as if we think we’d walk it with only that cock Johnson to beat if we weren’t lumbered with a shabby old sod of a 1970’s throwback at the helm. We wouldn’t want people to think that at all. But we see Jeremy more as a figurehead. You know, one without any power, responsibility or say on policy. A figurehead without a public voice. Or face. Definitely not a face.”

As The Bugle went to press, a majority of Labour MP’s were understood to be in favour of similar roles for Diane Abbott and John McDonnell
