New series of Little Britain to be retitled Little England with a host of zany new characters
2020-01-22
The new series of Little Britain, announced earlier this week, has been renamed Little England, with a host of zany new characters. Creators David Walliams and Matt Lucas say they want the new series to be more representative of the UK in 2020.
Gone are the likes of ‘wheelchair bound’ Andy and the only gay in the village, and in their place are Jacob ‘n Nige who can never quite agree on whether 1866 or 1966 is best. Jacob wants to bring back child labour and Rickets while Nige favours passive smoking, casual racism and compulsory mini skirts for any woman under 30. The one thing they can both agree on though is that you can’t trust Johnny Foreigner, especially if he doesn’t speak English.
“We’re making a number of fundamental changes with this new series” an insider told The Bugle “but the big one is that there’s no underlying expectation that anyone will find it funny – unless they voted for Brexit of course.”
As we went to press, it was rumoured that Sacha Baron Cohen may be making a guest appearance on the show, reprising his Boris character that was inexplicably successful in winning the General election of 2019.
