Newcastle lasses continue ascent of Ben Nevis after group of men in trainers rescued from mountain

A group of lasses from Newcastle are pressing on with their ascent of Ben Nevis this morning despite a group of men – some of whom were said to be wearing trainers – having to be rescued from the mountain in a blizzard.
The girls, all wearing party frocks or spangly boob tubes with stilettoes, set off on Saturday night after a big session in a local bar. “It’s been canny” said Tracy Clunge from Wallsend as she dislodged her stiletto heel from between two rocks “It’s getting a bit chilly, but it’s not cold enough for a coat yet. We’ve got a bottle of Prosecco to crack open when we get to the top like.”
As The Bugle went to press, there were unconfirmed reports that the girls progress had been delayed after getting in a fight with a hen party from Barnsley coming back down the other way.
