London man thrilled at return of blue British passport from March

A London man has expressed his ‘sheer delight’ at the news that he will be able to apply for a blue British passport again from March, following the UK’s exit from the EU. The passports were fazed out in 1998 in order to harmonise with those in other EU countries.
Tony Rufs-Leepa, 36, of no fixed abode told The Bugle “It’s a massive relief to me to think that if I were ever in the position to travel further than the end of the street I sleep on, I’d be doing it on a proper blue British passport rather than one of those poncey burgundy foreign ones. I know I’ve got nowhere to live and not so much as a pot to piss in, but I can’t tell you what a lift this has given me. Makes me feel proud to be British. The new colour is great and will go nicely with my hands in winter.”
Home Secretary Priti Patel agrees. At the launch of the new blue passport she said the passport will “once again be entwined with our national identity”.
