Handshakes banned at Barnsley dogging sites

Handshakes have been banned at dogging sites across the Barnsley borough this evening as organisers put measures in place to try to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
Sid Clunge who runs a popular site on some waste ground behind the sewage treatment plant in Wombwell told the Bugle “We’re treating this very seriously and asking participants to wash their hands before coming on site and to refrain from either shaking hands with, or high-fiving any other member, even if they’ re on the opposite end of a spit roast or ‘Shafton Sandwich’ as it’s known round here. This has always been a safe site and we want to keep it that way.”
As our reporter left the Wombwell site, doggers were already starting to arrive with many wearing gloves. “It’s nowt to do with the virus” Clunge told our reporter “but it’s bloody cold and there’ll be some heavy lifting to do later.”
Clunge was tight-lipped on rumours that some site visitors had already started using the Wuhan shake.
