Doggers urged to disinfect their gearsticks as sites reopen

Dogging sites were given the green light to reopen this weekend as lockdown restrictions were eased further. It won’t be just business as usual though with strict guidelines in place to help maintain social distancing and keep all equipment virus free, especially glove boxes and gearsticks.
“We’re just glad to be back in business,” said Sid Clunge who runs a popular site near Barnsley. “In some ways our members have been ahead of the curve with many of them wearing masks for years. We know we’ll have to be down in numbers at first. Like golf this is a healthy outdoor activity and we’ve been following the lifting of restrictions there with interest. They started out with two balls and have now been allowed to go to four balls and were hoping for a similar progression here.”
The Bugle understands that Sid has carried out a detailed risk assessment including an appraisal of how social distancing might be maintained.
“We don’t want everyone coming at once,” he said “but if they do we’ll be ready.”
