Mystery at IKEA as huge number of spanners and other tools appear in car park overnight

Anyone struggling to put their IKEA furniture together was in luck yesterday as a massive number of spanners and other tools mysteriously appeared in the stores car park overnight. The appearance of the tools coincided with the reopening of 19 of the companies stores and took management by surprise.

“They weren’t there the night before” said Sven Alenkee, manager of the Warrington branch, “but by 9.00am the car park was overflowing with tools and there were a lot of spanners amongst them. We can’t explain it. Nobody can. We’re all having a Nordic chuckle about it now.”

Retail experts say this could be part of a trend and that spanners and other tools can be expected to mysteriously turn up outside other retail establishments as they re-open after the Coronavirus outbreak.

In related news, business was brisk on the first day of trading with many customers buying full length mirrors to take a long hard look at themselves.
