Walsall Clean Up Operation Scaled Down After Organisers See Pictures Of What Town Looked Like Before It Rained

Organisers of a clean up operation in Walsall, following this weekends flash floods, say they have drastically scaled down the operation after being shown photographs of what the town looked like before it rained. At first, the clean up team feared it could take at least a month to restore reasonable living conditions to the area, after witnessing the scale of the devastation. But photographs taken just last month showed that what at first had appeared to be a scene of devastation, was actually quite normal for Walsall.

“We got it wrong,” admitted a spokesperson for the relief effort. “We saw abandoned cars, rubbish strewn across the streets and furnishings and carpets piled up in front gardens. We saw dishevelled, feral characters roaming the streets – often in gangs – and feared the worst. But apparently, that’s just how it is.”

The Bugle understands that in place of the planned two-hundred strong relief effort involving military vehicles,  and helicopters, there will now be just two women despatched to the area, armed with a squeegee, a bucket and two packs of wet wipes.
