“Squalor, Filth, The Air Hanging Heavy With The Smell Of Drugs” – A Damning Indictment As Government Take Over Birmingham
2018-08-20
The government vowed to take over Birmingham today as one influential visitor described it thus “Squalor, filth, the air hanging heavy with the smell of drugs, a dilapidated physical environment, a sense of great instability of feeling that of any time violence could break out.” He also found blood, vomit, rat droppings and cockroaches.
It’s understood that this is the first time the Government has taken control of an entire city, but living conditions are so serious that the matter needs to be addressed urgently. It’s understood that the changes will take effect immediately.
CORRECTION – Our reporter recently visited Birmingham, made assumptions, and did not read the story briefing correctly. The comments made refer to Birmingham prison – that’s Birmingham prison, and not the city itself. The Bugle would like to apologise unreservedly for any embarrassment caused.
