Own Brand Cod ‘Definitely Not Whale Meat’, Says Iceland

Iceland’s own brand cod is definitely not whale meat a spokesperson for the company has confirmed. Questions were raised today, after it emerged that the company is still using palm oil despite pledging to stop doing so by the end of 2018. Companies are being urged to phase out use of palm oil because of the huge negative impact on endangered wildlife populations in Asia
“I can confirm that our own brand cod is definitely not whale meat, “ a spokesperson told The Bugle . “Nosiree Bob. “Our fleet….I mean our suppliers…are committed to finding the very best seafood and yes some of the cuts are larger than average. That has to be a good thing. Doesn’t it?”
We tried to get an opinion from a typical Iceland customer and spoke to 45 year old Tom Dunce as he left the Barnsley store, carrying three bag large bags of chemicals and icicles “Doesn’t bother me mate” he said “If it’s cheap I don’t care if it’s Unicorn meat.”
