Days of week to be abolished and replaced with Binday and Otherday

In what many will see as a radical but sensible move, the government last night announced that the traditional seven days of the week are to be streamlined into a new simpler system in which every day is either Binday or Otherday. The new system will come into effect at the beginning of May.

With the lockdown seemingly entering its third decade, it’s thought that the new system is more reflective of the reality of life in the UK for most people, and will help reduce unrealistic expectations that one day might offer something slightly different to the last.

“The old system is over-complicated and gives people false hope.” a government insider told the Bugle. “Weekends mean nothing and why would you need to distinguish between, say, Wednesday and Thursday unless one of them is bin day? You wouldn’t. This is going to make life simpler for everyone because there are only two days to remember.”

As the Bugle went to press the public appeared to be getting on board with the idea, with the hashtags #TGIB and #TFIB already trending on Twitter.
