Wickersley Woman Rushed To Hospital After Getting Her Hair Wet

A middle aged woman from Wickersley was rushed to Rotherham District General Hospital last week after getting caught in a sharp shower.
Anne Turner 47, left her house on Wood Lane on foot last Wednesday, to make the short journey to the Tanyard shopping centre. Prior to leaving the house she had brushed, lacquered and sprayed her shoulder length blonde bob in to something with the appearance and structural rigidity of a ROSPA approved motorcycle crash helmet, but had neglected to check the weather forecast.
She was less than 100 yards from her destination when the heavens opened and an umbrella-less Anne was soaked, leaving her distraught and disheveled. A passer-by, who didn’t wish to be named, found her shaking and wimpering by the roadside repeating the phrase , “My hair, my hair, look at my hair.” while rocking back and forth on her heels. “It was pitiful” he said, “It was as if her world had ended.”
Paramedics sedated Anne at the scene before transferring her to hospital where she was treated for shock before being released later in the day with an emergency hairdressers appointment.
“I just want my ordeal to be a warning to others.” said a relieved Anne, when we caught up with her, safely back home, and with her hair looking good to survive a nuclear blast, “It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, you’re never more than a cloudburst away from looking like a Canklow lass.”
