Rotherham Advertiser Goes Into Direct Competition With The Bugle

The Rotherham Advertiser gave the clearest signal yet that it intends to go head to head with The Rotherham Bugle this week, when it published an article about a dispute over the price of an ice cream outside Poundland on Parkgate. The article carried all the hallmark of a Bugle piece with the added advantage of being true.
A spokesman for The Bugle said “They’ve really stolen our thunder here and we’re not happy about it. We don’t publish articles about boring council meetings and defecating stray dogs and they should leave nutters claiming to be at risk of being blinded by a flying ice cream cornet to us.”
